Our client is a global leader in Mineral Processing with over 170 assets worldwide. As part of their expansion, they are building a new plant next to their largest sites located on Bathurst, NSW. This new plant will need a HSE Coordinator during the construction project that is estimated between 18 - 24 months. This is a critical role that will lead all HSE aspects of this new plant during the construction and delivery phase.
Role responsibilities: Assist with all HSE aspects of the project. Halt work in cases of critical HSE nonconformities. Report all HSE risks and incidents directly to the HSE Manager, and coordinate daily with the Project Manager and Construction Site Supervisor. Provide advice and support to the HSE Manager on project-specific duties. Ensure the Project HSE Plan is adhered to and in place before starting construction work. Implement and track KPIs for contractor performance. Permit Management: Oversee the Work Permit system. Ensure contractors meet HSE requirements and HSE Contractor Rules. Approve the HSE coordinators appointed by contractors. Complete risk assessments with the Project Manager, HSE Manager, Contractor SHE Coordinator, and Contractor Manager before project start-up. Conduct daily site inspections and monitor HSE performance, maintaining related documentation. Lead or assist in investigating incidents as per the Project HSE Plan. Lead weekly Toolbox Talks or as needed. Reasons to be interested: Join a global leader organisation. Cert IV or above in Occupational Health & Safety. Current Provide First Aid & CPR. Current Drivers' licence. Minimum of 3 years related experience working on a project construction site safety supervision.
