Health, Safety & Environment (Construction) Transgrid operates and manages the major high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users. Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market Opportunity for career advancement Work as part of a nation-building renewable energy project Full time position based in Tamworth (can be based in Newcastle or any NSW Regional Depot) This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a role in the transition to a renewable energy future that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. Specifically, the position is responsible for working together with the Delivery management team to maintain full compliance with TransGrid policies and procedures, and the relevant safety and environmental legislation. It is expected that the role will add value to the team through providing specialist advice, coaching and coordination services on all project lifecycle matters relating to HS. The role will also encourage and influence others to adopt practices that improve HS performance and culture in the workplace. It is expected that you will add value to the team through providing specialist advice and coordination services on all project lifecycle matters relating to health and safety and support site delivery with interactions with delivery partners and Transgrid personnel to achieve the highest level of safety outcomes for the project. You will also encourage and influence others to adopt practices that improve health and safety performance and culture in the workplace and across all work fronts on the HumeLink project. Position requirements Demonstrated knowledge of HSE related operational issues associated with construction projects. At least 2 years' experience working on Infrastructure construction projects with a preference for experience working on electrical Infrastructure construction projects. Tertiary qualifications at Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent demonstrated experience Excellent oral and written skills, communications skills with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas through clear and effective messages. High degree of personal presentation in appropriate office or field settings. Model correct PPE and standard of dress when onsite Proven experience in implementing and managing effective stakeholder relationships, with demonstrated high level interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of the requirements of WHS and environmental legislation, relevant Codes of Practice, Australian and international Standards and Guidelines. Competent in HSE Management Systems. Excellence in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office applications and GIS systems. Current driver's licence.
