About the Role WesTrac is seeking HSE Advisor to join their team. Based at Tamworth, this role supports the Western Region of NSW. This role is a full-time position, working a Monday-Friday roster.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor will work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to ensure all organisational and legislative safety requirements are met. These requirements will be met through participating in audits, compliance checks, investigations and delivering on key projects. The successful applicant will review performance trends and ensure leaders are adopting the best HSE practices.
As the appointed HSE Advisor, you will be required to frequently travel to key Western NSW branches, as well as travel to the smaller branches on a less frequent basis. Additional travel across the wider NSW/ACT business may be required where necessary. This position comes with a fully maintained vehicle with reasonable personal use permitted.
The successful candidate will be someone who works well in an autonomous environment, as well as in a team, whilst possessing the skills of adaptability, responsiveness, and accountability. Through building effective relationships and having strong communication skills, you will deliver a high standard of health and safety support across our regional branches, contributing to a harm-free workplace.
Key Responsibilities Provide effective advice and support to key internal stakeholders, leading to improved safety performance and behavioural change. Create reports and review data to provide understandings of safety performance for the region. Consistently engage with stakeholders to support effective and safe operations whilst driving behavioural change. Participate in incident investigations and action follow-through. Maintain data in the HSE system whilst ensuring reporting is thorough and concise. Participate in strategies and project development to achieve HSE objectives. Conduct compliance audits, facilitate training and analyse findings to implement corrective actions. Contribute to continuous improvement through analysis of systems and processes to determine best practices. Skills & Experience Formal qualifications in WHS or desire to commence training. Experience in a similar industry desirable. Advanced computer literacy skills. Ability to develop strong relationships whilst fostering a positive working environment. Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and interpersonal. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team. Highly developed attention to detail with the ability to create comprehensive and detailed reports.
