Health, Safety & Environment (Construction)The HSE Advisor will provide support to several projects to meet the requirements of the Health, Safety and Environment management systems. You will also assist the Senior HSE Advisor with strategic and operational oversight of our health, safety and environment streams.Key objectives & responsibilities include:Conduct workplace inspections and schedule complianceLead HSE investigationsConduct audits, risk assessments and hazard analysisSupport health awareness and managementAssist in the development of procedures and Safe Work Methods StatementsSupport business HSE reporting and the communication of HSE trendsCoordinate fitness for work initiatives, including drug and alcohol testingRequired Skills / Experience / Attributes:Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)Have a Certificate IV, diploma or degree in Health, Safety & Environment, or similar disciplineHave a working knowledge of HSE and legislationExperience in conducting HSE incident investigations, utilising an industry recognised investigation methodology, such as ICAMExperience in providing advice and support to management on operational matters relating to HSEExperience in conducting management system audits and hold internal auditors trainingHave an intermediate level of IT literacy, including the MS Office SuiteBe a service orientated team player with a "can do" attitude and extensive experience building and maintaining strong working-relationships with internal & external stakeholders alikeHold a current Drivers Licence and the ability to travel between facilitiesWhy AustalCompetitive compensation and benefits package.Professional development and training opportunities.A supportive and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for career advancement within our growing organisation.What's on Offer?Located in Cairns, QLDNine-day fortnight with an RDO every second FridaySalary Sacrificing, Novated Leasing, Retailer discount, EAP, Insurance discountsAt Austal we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment for all.
