Health, Safety & Environment (Construction)We are seeking the right person to work with our Project teams to provide operational support, advice and compliance monitoring relating to the health, safety and environmental aspects of Civil Infrastructure project delivery.Responsibilities:Leads a culture of Safety 1st Always Works and environmental responsibility on our Project sites.Supports Project teams to consider safety and environmental requirements throughout project planning and delivery.Facilitates the recording, review and improvement of HSE related documentation with both internal and external parties.Provides input and advice to matters relating to HSE in pre-tender assessment as requested.Lead project incident and near miss investigations.Manages and understands legislative requirements for workers compensation and rehabilitation at project level.Assists in maintaining databases, systems and registers for matters relating to the project.Requirements:Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent experience.Minimum 2 years Civil Construction Industry experience or Heavy Industry/Mining experience in a HSE Advisor or equivalent role.Highly developed communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with stakeholders.Ability to support and develop Project teams including frontline employees and line managers that have HSE involvement in the project.Knowledge of management systems such as Environmental Management Systems (A/NZS 14001:2004) and Safety Management Systems (A/NZS ISO 9001).Practical knowledge of regulatory governance, legislative requirements, codes of practice and compliance requirements.Sound understanding of Microsoft Office software packages.About Hazell Bros:Founded in Tasmania in 1944, Hazell Bros is more than a diverse family-owned and operated civil construction business; we are a family with a simple purpose: to be the supplier of choice by applying world-class knowledge and experience to deliver unparalleled products and services.
