Seeking a passionate HSE Advisor to support our ambitious solar projects on a casual basis.
About the Role:
Position: HSE Advisor
Location: Gladstone, Queensland – Adoga Solar Farm
Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing Projects
Rate: $60 per hour, with penalties (Salary negotiable). Accommodation and meals provided on-site.
Your Mission:
As our HSE Advisor, you'll be the guardian of safety on our QLD solar farm sites. You'll not only ensure compliance with WHS standards but also foster a proactive safety culture among our teams.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Champion site safety and encourage a positive health and safety culture.
Identify and intervene in unsafe acts or conditions.
Take charge of site WHS in the Project Manager's absence, ensuring everyone is up to speed with safety protocols.
Implement HSE documentation (HSEMP, SWMS, policies, etc.) and oversee Site Safety Rules and Instructions.
Continuously assess work areas and report any changes or risks to the Site Manager.
Liaise with clients and contractors to maintain high safety standards.
Regularly review, update, and implement Safe Work Method Statements, especially for high-risk tasks.
Lead Pre-Start Meetings, Toolbox talks, and site-specific safety inductions.
Organize and participate in HSE meetings, communicating lessons learned and developing action plans.
Facilitate risk assessment studies with the project management team and clients.
Maintain accurate site safety statistics and report findings weekly and monthly.
Conduct thorough site inspections and task assessments, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Manage incident reports and investigations, working closely with the Project Management team.
Support injury management processes and implement return-to-work plans.
Participate in safety management system audits to ensure compliance.
Oversee Plant Pre-Start checks and address any issues with the Site Manager.
Regularly inspect mobile plants and ensure all operators have valid VOC certifications or licenses.
Conduct training through task and tool SOPs and VOC assessments as needed.
Continuously monitor and review safety plans, procedures, and standards.
Ensure compliance with Pilecom's Safety Management Systems and all relevant legislation.
What You Bring to the Table:
Experience working on-site in project-based roles; solar project experience is a big plus.
The ability to work independently and confidently.
Certificate IV or Diploma in Health and Safety (required).
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (preferred).
Minimum 2 years of HSE experience.
Strong knowledge of OH&S/WHS and Environmental legislation.
Excellent report/document writing skills.
A proactive, self-motivated mindset.
Willingness to work away from home for extended periods.
