Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated HSE Advisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.
The primary purpose is to contribute to the HSE team's goals to influence positive attitudes and behaviours that foster a positive safety culture, ensure continuous improvement and good corporate governance.
Key responsibilities: Providing technical advice and coaching including safety leadership, risk management, HSE systems, incident investigation, inspection and monitoring, training.Conduct audits of project operations, the HSE Management System and its implementation for compliance and continuous improvement.Assist with the implementation of control measures to address HSE risk and ensure monitoring and reviews for effectiveness is undertaken.Facilitate the communication and consultation of necessary HSE information/lessons learned, across all sites in the project.Skills & Experience: 5+ years' experience in a high-risk industry; engineering / railway / constructionDiploma of Work Health and SafetyAbility to build HSE capability and safety leadership; managers, employees, and contractorsAbility to influence and drive safe behaviours and performance through building effective relationships and engagementDemonstrable knowledge and experience of operating within ISO45001, ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems & AS/NZS is essentialHighly proficient computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Office suite and other computer programsInvestigator QualificationAgile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a challenging environmentDemonstrates perseverance, patience and commitment for long term successAt Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
