The HRD & Payroll Support Officer is responsible for providing effective services within the HRD department across the 3 areas of HRD, OHSE and Payroll, specifically dealing with AME's PALM (Pacific Australia Labour Mobilisation scheme)/International team members.

This is an on-site position. Reporting to the HRD Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
Coordinate PALM staff recruitment and selection processes working with in-country Local Sending Units (LSU) to ensure a timely, organised and comprehensive procedure is used to hire new team members, ensuring correct in-country preliminary screening is undertaken and recorded. Assist and coordinate the PALM staff induction and onboarding process to ensure a timely, organized and comprehensive procedure is used to induct, onboard and welcome new team members to their new home, reflecting AME's existing processes and procedures. Coordinate PALM staff support and management processes, aligned to AME's CARE values, including accommodation, transportation, mobile phones and plans, health care, insurances, drivers licencing and deduction rates and schedules. Be a point of contact for PALM staff queries that sit outside of immediate production or work questions but refer team members on to the relevant department such as HR, OHSE, Training or Payroll as required. In coordination with Managers ensure AME is fulfilling its responsibilities and obligations in relation to the PALM Deed of Agreement. In coordination with Managers and WGSs, educate and communicate expected behaviour and conduct in relation to the workplace, the local community and the broader Australian society. In coordination with Managers and WGSs, educate and communicate other AME staff regarding Pacific Island culture, beliefs and behaviours in order to promote a greater understanding of PALM team members. Be a point of contact for any PALM/DEWR queries and undertake the management of the PALMIS Portal. Perform other related HR duties as required that can be reasonably attributable to the role, included but not limited to nominated projects, discipline processes, administration support in the style of drafting letters, data management/entry, records maintenance, scanning and general office assistance. Undertake the Payroll function during periods of the Payroll Compliance Coordinator absence and as back-up when needed. Where able provide information, advice and assistance to managers, supervisors and staff on HR, ER, OHSE and payroll related issues. Potential for overseas travel, up to date passport needed. SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Manufacturing experience in small to medium business. Good product knowledge. Good report writing skills. Attention to detail, particularly when entering data. Proficiency in technology and system applications and their relevance to an office environment. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Sound computer skills, especially Microsoft suite of products. Payroll Experience. General administration ability. Ability to embrace an organisations culture and values from the outset. Valid Driver's Licence and Current Passport. Police Check Clearance.
