HR Generalist/Workplace Coordinator BigCommerce is looking for a Human Resources Generalist/Workplace Coordinator. Reporting to our Manager, HR Business Partners, you'll be instrumental in shaping our HR strategies by managing employee relations, delivering a welcoming and memorable experience for all visitors and employees at our Sydney office, driving performance management initiatives, and ensuring compliance with HR policies while creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere and supporting our workplace experiences. This in-office role will support various employee/workplace programs and initiatives, while embodying our core values of "Customer First" and "Team on Mission."
In this role, we have a preference for a Sydney Australia based employee who can work on-site. **To be considered a candidate you must be located in Australia** ** Work Authorization Visa Sponsorship cannot be provided** What You'll DoGeneralist responsibilities Support the HRBP team's efforts by actively contributing to the development of department goals, objectives and systems that support not only the efforts of the People & Culture department but the company's strategic directionProvide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) in partnership with HRBPsManage and resolve employee relations issues, including PIP's, and conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations in partnership with HRBPsWork with HRBPs to drive execution of HR/COE programs including, but not limited to talent assessments, career pathing and organizational designManage the development, implementation, maintenance and legal compliance of HR policies, procedures, protocols and guidelinesSupport internal communications to ensure understanding and participation in People & Culture programs ensuring consistency and alignment with BigCommerce's brand identity, strategic direction, philosophies and toneIdentify, review and analyze local trends & internal data to recommend solutions to HRBPs to improve performance, retention, and employee experienceAssist with processing employee changes, terminations and conducting exit interviewsAssist with initiatives and projects that span across the globe and across functionsMaintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory complianceMaintain positive relationships with managers and employees to promote our culture of open communicationSupport the Australian employees by providing a safe and approachable workplace environmentOffice experience responsibilities Create an amazing office experience by fostering a warm and welcoming environment for employees and guestsCollaborate closely with the Real Estate & Office Experience on office goals and initiativesSupport daily office operations by managing deliveries, the mailroom, kitchen supplies, and general office upkeep, ensuring everything is neat and ready to inspireAssist with desk setups, workstation and office moves, and manage security access with badge distribution as well as perform regular auditsCoordinate and supervise building and office maintenance, including managing vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service while building and maintaining strong working relationshipsOversee conference room bookings, event space planning and room setup for company events and meetingsCoordination of office, regional and community events—bringing our culture to life through engaging experiences. Events may occasionally take place outside regular business hours or on weekendsStep in with ad-hoc tasks and projects as neededWho You AreWorking knowledge of multiple human resource subject areas including compensation, employee relations, talent management, and recruiting with an emphasis on Australian employment lawAt least 2 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, preferably within the technology industry and/or at a high growth, rapidly evolving company.A well-rounded HR skillset, a true generalist who is with an appetite to apply their skills in a wide range of areasPassion for creating great events and workplace cultureMeticulous and detail oriented with a focus on customer serviceCapability to apply discretion and sound judgment in managing complex processes, decisions and handling sensitive informationStrong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations and the ability to appropriately spot employment risk issuesProficiency in Google suite or Microsoft office productsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal and customer service skills, projects confidence and builds trust easilyAbility to work within compressed timeframes and embrace the sense of urgency, innovation and resourcefulness required in a fast-paced companySelf-starter with demonstrated success through collaboration and teamwork, and effective managing multiple competing priorities and projectsDriven and results oriented, yet humbleSense of humor, and/ or the ability to laugh when things get hectic, a HUGE plusCompensation: Base Salary, Plus Superannuation Posted: 11 , December 2024 #LI-LP1 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at BigCommerce Our employees make the difference.
