It's not rocket science; it's just caring enough about what we do to do it right.What you will do: You will lead the AUNZ HR functions of the business (approximately 75 stores and 800 people). Your responsibilities will include:
Employee relations: Provide prompt and quality advice to our retail managers on employee relations issues. Resolve employee issues raised by the stores effectively, combining your understanding of the law, your judgement, empathy, and your ability to partner with the retail team.HR Policy and Procedure: Ensure you are up to date with legal changes in AUNZ and that our contracts, policies, and practices are current. This includes making sure that we have the right leadership discussions and actions from Support Office to Stores to continue our great culture and comply with and exceed our positive duty in relation to Respect@Work and other relevant legislation.Workplace Health and Safety: Own the workplace health and safety portfolio, including psychosocial safety, ensuring that BN has the right processes, risk assessments, and education and training in place. Partner closely with the retail leadership team and, on occasions, present to the BN Leadership Team.Retail Award Compliance: Know your way around the Retail Award and be able to make strong recommendations regarding salary principles, rostering, and people management issues.Oversee our talented offshore HR operations: Team who manage our HR databases and systems and operational work.HR Training to the retail team: Where required, prepare and deliver training and communication to the retail team on HR matters including legal and Award compliance, WHS, Respect@Work, effective performance management, and other HR areas.Prepare and monitor the HR Budget.Gather insights from People data and themes arising through your work and make recommendations to improve HR processes and the employee experience.Direct Reports to this Role: You will lead, coach, and mentor our HR Coordinator who is offshore and looks after all of our contracts, variations, first-level employee queries, and HR Admin and Support.Who you are: You are a friendly, personable team player able to build rapport quickly with our retail teams.You are tertiary qualified with a relevant degree.You are a high-performing HR Professional with at least 7+ years of relevant experience in HR (preferably with experience in a Retail environment).A trusted advisor, with experience in partnering with other managers and support with a broad range of People priorities.You are hungry to grow and take on new challenges.An ability to develop HR strategies and plans that are aligned to the business strategy.You have high integrity and understanding that confidentiality, discretion, and tact are core parts of working as a people leader.You are an engaging communicator and a great team member who rapidly builds relationships of trust.You role model the BN values & behaviours.Strong understanding of KPIs that you are delivering, and sharing suggestions and ideas for improving performance with your manager and the broader team on a regular basis.You demonstrate sound judgement when making decisions or advising others.Bailey Nelson is committed to creating a workplace that is diverse, inclusive, and welcoming to all.
