This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, high volume and rapidly changing environment, supporting the Executive Director, Schools Human Resources Division and the division's Client Engagement Unit.
If you enjoy a role with close working relationships within a team, this may be the role for you.Schools Human Resources provides human resource services and strategic human resource policy advice to Victorian schools in areas of schools recruitment, employee relations, payroll and provision of HR data to assist in the building of a high-quality and diverse schools workforce.
Recruitment, payroll and reporting support is also provided to external clients.Under the guidance of the Manager, Client Engagement, the HR Engagement Officer contributes towards the provision of strategic support across administrative operations including providing high-level administrative support to the executive director and ensuring briefs, correspondence and Cabinet and Parliament related documents are quality assured and coordinated efficiently.
The HR Engagement Officer assists in the coordination and preparation of HR policy and projects and provides support to the division's branches, including researching and distributing information, and developing and implementing communications.
The role entails liaising with relevant areas within the department to ensure quality, accurate and timely advice is provided to the department's senior leadership team and relevant ministers, as well as providing stakeholder management support to the division's Client Engagement Unit.
The role will also assist with the management of the division's SharePoint site and records management.About YouThe ideal candidate will have:highly developed stakeholder management skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersstrong organisational and time management skills with sound experience planning, prioritising and responding quickly to changes and is at ease when working collaboratively with teams outside one's own entity/group.well-developed written communication skills, can review documents—including briefings and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy at all times (including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax)sound knowledge of the processes, policies and procedures within government and understanding of public sector accountabilityability to resolve issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines and apply critical thinking and problem-solving concepts in the right context.How to applyApplications including a current resume and a short covering letter should be submitted by the due date.For a confidential discussion please call Amanda Rowe, Manager, Client Engagement on 7022 0292.
