Local Government in the western suburbsRole to start immediately & initially until February 2025 with the possibility of extension$65 per hour + superAbout the CompanyOur client, a local government authority, is looking for a HR Business Partner to join their people and culture team. The role is to start ASAP and is initially contracted until the end of February 2025.The organisation offers hybrid work options, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. For the right person, the organisation would be flexible for part-time 4 days per week.Key Responsibilities:Act as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, providing expert advice and solutions.Partner with department leaders to enhance people management capabilities and drive performance.Lead and support recruitment processes, including job advertising, shortlisting, and onboarding.Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and training programs.Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and correspondence on HR matters.Contribute to key HR projects and initiatives that drive positive workplace culture and engagement.What You Bring:Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related field.Extensive experience in a similar HR Business Partner or generalist HR role.Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act, employment legislation, and industrial relations.Proven ability to provide strategic HR advice and manage complex HR issues.Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.Experience in the public sector or unionized environments is highly desirable.Why Join Us?In return, you will be rewarded with the opportunity to expand on your local government experience.
