About the Role: My client, a local government, is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their People & Culture team on a 3-month contract to cover a secondment backfill. The council is based in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. They offer a hybrid work setup of 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days from home, depending on the week. The position is ideally full-time but is open to considering work 4 days per week. The role reports into a Senior Business Partner.
Key Responsibilities: Partner with leaders to provide general HR advice, support, and guidance on a variety of matters, including performance management, secondments, higher duties arrangements, Enterprise Agreement guidance, and policy advice. Engage in employee relations activities such as employee investigations and support leaders in managing organizational changes. Contribute to high-level People & Culture projects that drive strategic outcomes. Report to one of our Senior Business Partners and support the operational day-to-day activities of the team. What We're Looking For: Strong background in HR business partnering within complex environments. Experience managing workplace relations, including performance management, grievances, and change management. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal leaders. Ability to adapt quickly, manage stress, and persist towards goals despite obstacles. A collaborative team player who enjoys contributing to high-level projects. Benefits: $57 per hour + superannuation. Hybrid work setup with flexibility around office and home days.
