Full Time Position with flexible hours About the WLE:
The Wangaratta Livestock Exchange ("WLE") is a purpose-built facility, located in Wangaratta, Victoria, and consists of modern facilities that promote a competitive livestock market for the region.
The WLE is overseen by an experienced Board of Directors who are passionate about creating operational efficiencies, growth, and professional services for all stakeholders.
About the General Manager:
The General Manager is responsible for the supervision and direct management of the WLE, including the facility and leading the team, whilst also building and maintaining relationships with the local Council, agents, buyers, vendors, and the community.
The General Manager will play a key role in the delivery of business operations and services, facility management and maintenance, finance and employee management, and compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and practices.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervision and management of the WLE Manage and coordinate business and facility operations Lead team performance, set action plans ensuring engagement in responsibilities and performance management Lead and manage site operational compliance requirements Lead annual audit and accreditation processes Ensure compliance with OHS legislation and practices Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (agents, clients, community) Monitor and measure sale day financial outcomes Attend and present at Board Meetings Payroll approval and/or processing Ensure adequate resourcing, rosters, casuals, and contractors Ensure adequate marketing, website, social media updates, and maintenance Undertake a coordinated project management/events planning approach to sales day and major events Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
Demonstrated experience in the management of a facility, or significant experience in the agricultural industry Strong leadership experience, with the ability to direct, motivate, and mentor employees Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills Financially literate with the ability to understand key business drivers, monitor, and report on business performance Ability to drive standards and improved systems of work We are seeking a leader with strong attributes who can add value to the Wangaratta Livestock Exchange operation.
