About the opportunity IFYS Accommodation Services has an opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join the Transitional Housing Team.
The Transitional Housing team work with young people and their children who are experiencing homelessness and are in need of short-term accommodation and support.
The Housing Support Worker will be responsible for the provision of tenancy intake and assessment services, casework and life-skills development with young people.

Fixed part-time role, from January 13th 2025 to 14th November 2025 Minimum 67.5 hours per fortnight (9 day fortnight or shorter days across the fortnight) Part-time hourly equivalent starting $37.35 + super (Level 3 SCHADS award) Not for profit salary packaging options (package up to $15,900 per FBT year) Unique in house training opportunities including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training, Preventing Child Sexual Exploitation and Sanctuary training Career & professional development opportunities Free access to the CALM Premium App + Flight Centre personal travel discounts Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Responsibilities of the role: Respond to enquiries and advise on options for accommodation and support Conduct assessments from referrals with young people seeking accommodation and support Develop and implement action plans with young people designed to meet their unique needs and goals with support of the Coordinator Assist with the development and/or deliver programs, activities and training that support service users and students Assist with the management and maintenance of all aspects of the client's tenancy - including entry and exit reports, quarterly inspections, lease monitoring & management, rent collection and bond lodgements Ensure property repairs and maintenance needs are addressed Complete administrative duties, waiting lists, client folders petty cash, case notes, time sheets and incident reports Requirements for the role: Experience working with young families with complex needs or an understanding of the impacts of trauma on a young person's life A go-getter attitude with the ability to adapt to changing situations and remain calm in the face of a crisis Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly, especially with young people Qualifications in or currently studying Youth work, Mental Health, Community Services, Human Services or Social Work highly desirable Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful: Valid Queensland driver's license with no restrictions QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card) Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2) National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through IFYS systems) If you would like further information on this role or would like to talk to a Recruitment Officer, please call (07) 5438 3000 and ask to speak to Ameena in the Recruitment team.
