Bloodwood Tree is renowned for its community-driven impact, offering an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees are encouraged to grow and innovate.About the OpportunityBloodwood Tree is seeking a full-time Housing Support Officer to join their team in Port Hedland, WA.In this role, you will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in the Pilbara region as they transition towards independent home ownership. You will assist clients with loan applications, budgeting, and understanding tenancy agreements. You will also promote the program through targeted marketing and reporting, ensuring that families are exposed to relevant opportunities.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supporting clients to purchase their own homes by offering guidance on budgeting, loan applications, and financial planningAssisting families with understanding and navigating tenancy agreements and home-buying processesPromoting home ownership opportunities through advertising and marketing effortsMaintaining accurate records of services provided, including pre-purchase inspections and land title verificationsDeveloping and reviewing participation plans for clients, ensuring progress towards their home ownership goalsMeeting key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on program outcomesUsing computer systems and software to track client progress and report on servicesCollaborating with other team members to support clients through every stage of the home-buying processWe strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as individuals from diverse backgrounds.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need:A Certificate IV Qualification in a relevant field, or at least two (2) years' experience in a community service front-line role, or a willingness to undertake further trainingDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, with experience working with Aboriginal young people and communitiesA strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal youth with out-of-home care experiencesWillingness to obtain a Working with Children CheckAdditionally, the following skills will be highly regarded:Strong written and verbal communicationAbility to work under pressure and demonstrate flexibilityCurrent knowledge of resources in the youth services field, including education and employment pathwaysA commitment to working collaboratively with the team and across the region on outreach servicesThis is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting Aboriginal youth to achieve independence and build fulfilling lives.About the BenefitsCompensation is a competitive annual salary starting at $78,382 PLUS super (negotiable based on experience and qualifications).
