The role is part of the Housing & Support Allocations Team which is included in Launch Housing's Immediate Support portfolio and is based across Launch Housing St Kilda, Cheltenham, and Collingwood.
The Housing & Support Allocations Team ensures that clients assessed by IAP, both within Launch Housing and by other IAP and allied agencies, are included on the dynamic PL and are prioritised for referral to support, accommodation and other services relative to their needs, ensuring effective client outcomes.
As the Interim Response, Allocation & Referral functions are an essential element of the IAP role within the Opening Doors framework, there is a clear synergy between the work of the Housing & Support Allocations Team and that of the IAP teams across Launch Housing. It is intended that there is a strong relationship maintained between the Housing & Support Allocations Team and IAP staff at all three Launch Housing Entry Points.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity for 38 hours per week.
What you'll be doing: Fulfil all administrative tasks for the position, and as required, undertake additional duties associated with the provision of IAP services.Comply with agency reporting requirements and organisational policies and procedures.Participate in the overall development of the service and in the development of policies and procedures to underpin the provision of effective and efficient service delivery.Foster a culture of client care, where the interests of clients are always prioritised.Ensure accurate and current records are confidentially maintained.Contribute to the delivery of innovative solutions to improve accommodation and housing outcomes for clients.Attend staff meetings and relevant Launch Housing meetings.Participate in regular supervision with Coordinator - Housing & Support Allocations.Attend internal and external training as agreed with Coordinator - Housing & Support Allocations.Work within Launch Housing's ethical, privacy and duty of care frameworks.Cooperate and comply with all risk, health & safety and compliance policies, frameworks, and procedures.What we're looking for (key selection criteria): A tertiary qualification in human services, social work or other relevant discipline, or direct experience in the delivery of services to clients with complex needs relating to homelessness.Demonstrated understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems.Demonstrated ability in working collaboratively with others towards effective client solutions.Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Demonstrated skills and aptitude in working with people with complex needs, and experience in working with people who are marginalized and disenfranchised.Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.Well-developed organizational and time management skills with demonstrated capacity to work flexibly and manage competing demands.Competence in using PC-based office applications and internet.Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.Salary and Benefits: $44.37 - $47.74 an hour
