THE ROLE
Housing Services Officers play a vital role in supporting the delivery of client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing. They are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
Prepare routine cases with well-established procedures and represent the Department at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies. Use persuasive skills in dealing with clients and stakeholders on all housing matters. COVID-19 VACCINATION
The department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances. As of June 2023, DFFH does not require evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
