Housing Services Officer

THE ROLE Housing Services Officers play a vital role in supporting the delivery of client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing.
Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing.
Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance.
Housing Services Officers are fully competent across the assigned housing functions and apply well-developed skills in all areas.
They may be required to be a local reference point in processes and procedures for less experienced staff and to will work in an environment under general supervision.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * Prepare routine cases with well established procedures and represent the Department at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
* Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies.
* Use persuasive skills in dealing with clients and stakeholders on all housing matters.
