The Role We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Officer to join our team, dedicated to our tenants with complex needs. Join our dynamic and passionate team, where you'll play a vital role in providing safe, secure, and affordable housing for individuals and families living with disabilities. As a key point of contact for tenants, you'll focus on understanding their housing needs and facilitating appropriate property support.
In your new role, you'll be responsible for delivering a responsive and professional tenancy and housing management service across a designated portfolio of properties and tenants. From allocation to vacancy, you'll ensure a positive tenant experience by delivering high-level holistic tenancy support, connecting with tenants, guardians, and support services to maintain and support sustainable tenancies.
Critical to your success in this position is the execution of tenancy management duties, including tenant applications, housing allocations, lease preparation and renewals, rent management, and inspections. You'll also provide valuable information and advice to tenants, collaborating closely with key stakeholders and the broader A2P team.

Experience working with individuals with complex needs (mental health). Experience working in either residential tenancy, property management, direct care, support/service coordination or social services. Effective communication (verbal and written) and conflict resolution skills which have been demonstrated at an operational level. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Experience working with people from a range of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong ability to sensitively relate to the needs of people experiencing a housing crisis or living with complex needs and/or disability. Strong Microsoft Office skills with the capability to learn a variety of software and customer relationship management programs. Experience working autonomously, displaying initiative, and working under pressure. The ability to positively engage tenants, A2P staff and other stakeholders with warmth and empathy to project the values of A2P in all that they do. NDIS Worker Screening Check (have or willing to obtain) Current South Australian Driver's license and a well-maintained and comprehensively insured vehicle that meets current safety standards.
Experience working with vulnerable communities, particularly in the disability space. Relevant tertiary qualification is highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in undertaking consultation processes with a variety of stakeholders. Prior tenancy/property management experience. Proven experience in Community Services. Familiarity with current Residential Tenancy laws, community housing management practice and principles. Profound understanding of housing alternatives for those in need.
