The Service has 50 years of proud history and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and Deep Level Maintenance (DLM) facility based in Broadmeadow NSW.About the positionWe are currently seeking applications for the role of Casual Housie Assistant in the Taree/Tuncurry Coast Region.A key component of our fundraising is our Helicopter Housie program which was established in 1989. Every week over 1,600 people play Cash Housie (Bingo) at one of 35 sessions in Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Manning Valley, Mid-North Coast, Central Coast and New England Northwest.You will be required to work every Tuesday night (5.15pm – 8.45pm) and alternate Wednesdays (9.45am – 1.45pm) and Thursdays (9.30am-2.00pm).In this role, you can make a difference by helping us provide a fun and friendly environment for our customers. Housie is an ideal social activity for people of all ages to keep their minds sharp, win great cash prizes and support a worthwhile local charity.Reporting to the Housie Manager, this role is responsible for conducting engaging and efficient Housie sessions in a variety of Registered Clubs across the region.Responsibilities include:Hosting our housie sessions, including set-up, selling tickets, paying winners, and finalising the session including recording session details and reconciliation of session worksheets.Use of microphone, a pleasant, clear and articulate voice.Interacting with Housie Patrons, Club staff, and your work colleagues to ensure a positive experience.Selling Housie books and electronic playing devices.Conducting Housie games in a safe and professional manner.A bright and confident personality with exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude.Excellent cash handling skills, good with numbers and technology.Self-motivated and takes initiative.Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including being agile and quick on your feet.Ability to work a flexible roster, day and night sessions as required.Own a mobile phone and laptop (optional).This role requires liaison with Registered Clubs staff and Housie Patrons; therefore, it is essential that the successful candidate is a people person with the ability to communicate with a diversity of people.
