POSITION SUMMARY As a Housekeeping Manager, you would be responsible for managing daily housekeeping operations in the hotel's continuous effort to deliver outstanding guest service and meet financial goals, as well as supervising work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms in the hotel.
QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar position in a full-service hotel in a managerial capacity is a must.
Alternatively, 6 years of line-level experience in all aspects of the Housekeeping Department; or equivalent level of education and experience.
Prior experience in Marriott Hotels or a full-service hotel brand will be helpful.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Manage daily Housekeeping operations to include maintaining cleanliness, service, and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices, and banquet/meeting/conference rooms.Obtain a list of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately and a list of prospective checkouts in order to prepare work assignments. Advise Front Office Manager and Guest Service Agents of rooms ready for occupancy.Assign Housekeeping Attendants their duties and inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.Ensure that all team members follow safety rules and procedures. Take corrective action where required to improve safety in work areas.Manage Marriott Housekeeping systems and procedures, cost controls, overall profitability, budgeting, and forecasting.Inspect rooms, corridors, lobby, meeting, and banquet rooms to determine the need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and make recommendations to management.Ensure guestrooms are properly secured and that proper key control procedures are utilized by housekeeping associates.Responsible for the smooth function of the hotel laundry operation.Assist in monitoring and developing team members' performance, including providing supervision, conducting counseling and evaluations, and delivering recognition and rewards.Conduct departmental orientation training for new associates, explaining Stamford Marriott policies, housekeeping work procedures, and demonstrating use and maintenance of equipment.Record data concerning work assignments, personnel actions, timesheets, and prepare periodic reports, including occupancy, payroll expenses, and department expenses.Assist in controlling expenses of the Housekeeping Department.This position reports to the Executive Housekeeper/Director of Housekeeping.Other duties assigned.Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets
