Selection Criteria Capacity to undertake routine support tasks across a range of functions in one or more work areas within a school environment. This is a fulltime role consisting of 38 hours per week, including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Hours are from 8am - 4pm with additional hours as directed by the Principal.
Work professionally, courteously and cooperatively with internal and external clients. This role involves close interaction with a wide range of parents, students and staff. Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in all aspects of the role. Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills. Assist in ensuring that the school complies with government regulations and policies. Comply with OH&S requirements and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for self and others. The House Assistant/Attendance is responsible to the Principal via the House Leader. Primary Responsibilities Triage students re wellbeing before they report to the House Leader team Answering and attending to phone and general enquiries to the House team o Assisting in the organizing of House events e.g. Graduations, parent info evenings, assemblies, celebrations etc. Support administration of House based activities Ensure the Office Core Values of professionalism, efficiency, cheerfulness, reliability, politeness and teamwork are implemented, followed and supported at all times. Staff/Students calling home ¿ help with phone numbers etc. Follow up all unexplained absences  Enter medical certificates for absences / notes from parents/Chronicles eg. Class teachers to be notified in the event student missing SAC. Generate 5 day unexplained absences to the House Leader Enter advance absences Liaise with House Leader regarding student absences when patterns identified, concerns raised Relay messages to students in classes Provide data analysis from Compass to the House Leader  Compile reports analysis and identification of students at risk for the House Leader Create all College events on COMPASS including printing of permission slips Other administration tasks as required and specified by the House Leader & Principal eg. Locker codes to students, printing timetables, issuing uniform passes when parent note has been provided, resupply of teacher/office stationary & resources, uniform referrals for State Schools Relief, new student tours (if required), attendance regular House Leader meetings Ensuring inconsistencies in absences on COMPASS are cleared and completed Other administration tasks as required and specified by the House Leader & Assistant Principal Who May Apply Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.

Location Profile Tarneit Senior College ¿ `Integrity, Innovation & Focus¿. Tarneit Senior College is located in a developing area of Wyndham, approximately 25 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD. We are located next to one of our main feeder schools - Tarneit P-9 College while also accepting enrolments from a number of other primary and P-9 schools including Baden Powell College and Truganina P-9 College. Significant enrolment also comes from new families moving into Tarneit with Wyndham being one of the top growth corridors in Australia. The school is situated near a number of areas of significant urban development which will see continued enrolments over the next 5 ¿ 10 years of families moving into the area. The college is experiencing a period of sustained growth for both the suburb and school over the next 5 to 10 years. In 2024 we have approximately 1050 students enrolled, and the projected enrolments is for the school to stabilise around this number in the next few years.
As a Senior College catering for Years 10, 11 & 12 we are able to offer comprehensive curriculum, pathways, and transition programs to cater for the academic and vocational needs of students.
