We're looking for several talented full-time or part-time salaried Hosts to develop our service team. Salary by negotiation and commensurate with relevant experience. As a Host/Hostess at Basq House, you will be the primary point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth and memorable stay. You will handle guest enquiries, manage reservations, and assist with various administrative and operational tasks to support the front desk and food & Beverage operations. Duties & responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide them with information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions. Cover reception and food and beverage shifts as needed. Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Handle reservations, cancellations, and modifications, both in person and over the phone or email. Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally, resolving issues. Process payments, including room charges, deposits, and cash transactions, in compliance with hotel policies and procedures. Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area and all public areas such as the Lounge, the Library, and the pool area. Keep accurate records of guest interactions and transactions using the hotel's reservation and property management systems. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to fulfill guest needs and preferences. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, photocopying, and emailing as needed. Provide concierge services such as booking transportation, making restaurant reservations, and arranging tours or activities for guests. Stay informed about hotel services, amenities, and local events to provide guests with relevant and up-to-date information. Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure the security and well-being of guests and staff. Assist with training new staff members and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities. Prerequisites Our ideal candidate should be authentic, confident, and purpose driven - while being humble and nurturing at the same time. Authenticity across all touch-points will be key to the hotel's success. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with guests and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner. The ideal candidate is a highly intelligent hotel professional with experience in Front of House Reception and Food & Beverage. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights. Experience in opening, managing, or re-positioning a hotel or restaurant with clear track record. At least 5 years' experience in the hospitality industry, with luxury and international experience ideal. A positive attitude, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
