An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for a Host - Rooms to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. As the Host - Rooms, you will provide a seamless and efficient operation of the Front Office on a day-to-day basis, being the face of our check-in and check-out experience, handling guest queries effortlessly.
This is a great opportunity in a pre-opening team for someone who is willing to contribute to successfully setting up the finance department and is enthusiastic about learning/acquiring new skills.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare arrival and departure reservations in our hotel PMS, noting requests and loyalty status of our guests. Process payments for guest departure, including posting payments, processing EFTPOS transactions, and preparing invoices.Ensure that all public and back of house areas are maintained to a high level of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation.Answer our phones with a smile and coordinate our guest's needs such as restaurant bookings, transportation requirements, and hotel services.Actively upsell and cross-sell hotel services and outlets.Be on hand to assist in an emergency situation where required.QualificationsYour background: To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and time management skills with a strong ability to multi-task.A passion for hospitality and a desire to provide the best service for our guests.Superior guest service skills along with excellent service resolution skills.The flexibility to work on a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays.Experience in guest relations or front office experience is advantageous.Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.Hyatt House employees enjoy, but are not limited to:
