The Position
Reporting to the Specialist Sales Manager, a fantastic opportunity exists in our established National Hospital Specialist team!
You will be responsible for managing your own territory including public hospitals and private rooms within the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) therapy area engaging primarily with Respiratory Physicians, Rheumatologists and the extended care team. The territory for this role spans across Queensland including all major hospitals.
The successful candidate would be expected to be living in and working in the Greater Brisbane area, QLD. Domestic travel is required to attend state national congresses, conferences, and cycle meetings.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Delivery of sales and activity targets for assigned territory.
Identify and effectively target key customers.
Achieve standard of infield days per annum.
Achieve coverage and frequency expectation.
Co-ordinate and manage functions designed to add value to customers, including in-service programs, journal clubs, case conferences.
Allocate and manage budget in cost effective ways to maximize sales.
Achieve and maintain high standard of technical & professional knowledge.
Develop selling skills, building credible and trusting relationships with customers.
Achieve development plan through active learning, working towards next applicable DRIVE standard.
Collaborate with cross functional team members to develop and implement account plans.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years hospital pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably respiratory or rheumatology therapy areas.
Bachelor's degree in medical or life sciences desirable, not essential.
Proven track record of sales success is essential.
Ability to develop and maintain high level of technical knowledge (including competitor, disease state, product, and clinical) to build credible, valuable, and trusting relationships.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of the Australian healthcare industry and up-to-date with current Medicine Australia Code of Conduct.
Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
High level of technical and professional skill in work-related areas.
High level of proficiency in selling skills.
Proficient in territory management.
Strong influencing and negotiation and persuasion skills.
Confident and effective customer networking skills in the hospital environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage competing business priorities and problem solve.
Ability to monitor own performance and communicate through electronic means.
