Your Role at St John of God Geelong Hospital You will be a Junior Medical Officer looking to increase your experience within world class facilities. You will be exposed to a wide variety of clinical case-mix appropriate to your stage of training and learn from some of Geelong's leading medical and emergency specialists, ideally working on a full-time permanent contract.
The Position Contribute to all aspects of clinical care of patients who are admitted under the care of consultants to clinical units in the hospital. This would particularly be in regard to medical admissions of acutely ill patients through the emergency department. Whenever possible attend ward rounds of Medical Consultants especially the Medical Consultant on call. Review any urgent medical problems and provide advice and assistance with clinical matters within the Hospital as requested by the relevant Consultant. Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of patient management plans. Assess and record in the Medical Records, all relevant clinical details of patients; at admission or in the context of an in-hospital consultation, during in-hospital care, and at discharge from the Hospital. Where relevant, undertake clinical evaluation of patients as their condition requires. Contribute to the patient care plans and discharge planning of each patient as required. Respond to Hospital clinical emergencies as a member of the MET team when so deployed. Assist in the supervising and training of undergraduate Medical Students if and when requested. Complete discharge summaries of all acute medical admissions. You will be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), with a minimum of 2 years postgraduate training.
You will have a commitment to the promotion, protection, maintenance and restoration of the health of all patients and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Current Australian experience will be highly regarded.
