What you'll be doing:
The Tradesperson shall be responsible for the maintenance, alteration, or repair work of plant and equipment in accordance with relevant qualifications, skills, and competency level.
This position is part of the Asset Management Team and is required to support Asset Management's objectives and goals across Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) facilities.
Selection Criteria:
Relevant NSW Trade Certificate/Licence and/or current Qualified Supervisors Certificate.
Demonstrated high level of computer skills, with ability and willingness to use Asset Management systems (AFM online), Microsoft Office, SNSWLHD's Building Management System, and other computing systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Standards relating to installations in hospitals, with the ability to acquire new skills and keep up to date with trade developments.
Demonstrated high level of skill in fault diagnosis and rectification in plant and equipment, including successful experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of plant and equipment and distribution systems.
Highly developed communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of staff including trade work colleagues, clinicians, health care clients, and Engineering Supervisors regarding repairs and scheduling of works, and when providing technical advice.
Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and as a member of a team.
Work consistent hours of operation with the major work centre, and assist with provision of after-hours and emergency response and repairs, including participation in the on-call roster as required.
Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain it.
Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, which may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases:
This is a Category 'B' position.
All new employees must comply with the requirements outlined in the NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015.
OASV requirements include proof of vaccination against influenza, which is compulsory for NSW staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
