John Fawkner is seeking a Hospital Coordinator to join our team on a part time basis. The role will see you fill 2 days per week to support our Hospital leadership team.
About us John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. 
The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
As the Hospital Coordinator your responsibilities will include: · Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
· Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and Departments
· Assist with coordination of staffing
· Manage patient flow, coordinate and plan operational processes
· Coordinate patient admissions and provide discharge planning support
· Support the hospital's commitment to quality improvement and achievement of National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards
· Maintain the safety of staff, patients and visitors
· Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
· Minimum 5 years working as a Registered Nurse
· Ability to manage competing demands and co-ordinate resources appropriately
· Advanced interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
· Demonstrate effective analytical and problem solving skills
· Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration with at least 5 years' experience
· Recent experience in bed management and/or patient flow
· Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
· High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
· Leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members
