Under the general supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) or the Department Manager, Hospital Aides assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment and adequate stock supply (excluding drugs) to enable clinical staff to deliver a high standard of care to patients in the ward/unit.It is expected the role will have direct contact with blood or body substances or infectious material, which needs to be considered in all tasks undertaken.
The team: This role is suitable for applicants who would enjoy working across a variety of areas within a variety of teams on a day by day basis. The Pool hospital aide is a physical role, working to strict time constraints to ensure an environment that is well prepared for people accessing the services of the Launceston General Hospital. The role is based in Pool and ongoing orientation and support is provided from within the Pool Office as well as in clinical units. The Pool Office strongly aligns with the CARE Values of the Tasmanian Health Service and requires staff members to be familiar with and practice these values. Details of Appointment Permanent, full time shift-worker position working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join the team.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary:$58,184 - $59,580per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
