Known for our expertise and exceptional quality, we seek an ambitious Business Development Manager (BDM) to accelerate sales growth, enhance brand awareness, and drive market expansion.
The BDM will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and positioning the company as the preferred solution in the Coal mining industry. This role requires a results-driven professional ideally with experience in the mining industry with a trade background.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships to retain and generate new business across the coal mining sector; Driving business growth and executing contract deliverables; Effectively engaging with customers to develop customer focused, cost effective and value-adding solutions; Working with the team to develop, agree and implement contractual strategies; Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, including prospecting and building relationships with potential clients; Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to drive innovation and market advantage; Prepare and present sales proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets; Stay up to date with industry developments, attending trade shows, conferences, and networking events to enhance market knowledge and expand the company's presence; Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts, analysing performance and identifying areas for improvement; Attend technical support training for all new and existing products. Key Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience (3+ years) in a Business Development, Sales, or Account Management role, preferably in the mining industry. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Results-driven with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Ability to identify opportunities, create strategies, and convert leads into long-term business partnerships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ideally someone that has got a mechanical background. Execution and results focused and able to ensure the highest quality delivery. Demonstrated experience in identification and development of new clients and opportunities. Commercially astute and proven ability to handle complex deals and negotiations. Ability to apply business, financial and technical strategic thinking concepts. Strong attention to details and multitasking skills. Strong Communication skills - both written and verbal.
