Horticulture Labourers

Hansen Orchards require 150 seasonal horticultural labourers to thin, pick and prune a variety of apple and cherry trees located across multiple properties in the Huon and Derwent Valleys in Tasmania.An approximate work period of six (6) months is expected to commence in November 2024.Whilst no specific experience is required, the work is physical and outdoors.
All candidates should be motivated and have the ability to learn quickly on the job.
Candidates will be required to use pruning and picking equipment, work in a team with others, and have the ability to work quickly and with accuracy.The hours of work will vary and may include early morning starts from 5am in a variety of weather conditions.During peak harvest periods (particularly Jan - Feb) weekend work will be required.Successful candidates will be offered employment on a casual basis under the Horticulture Award 2020, and the expected average hours are 30 per week.Candidates who display outstanding aptitude and commitment to the work may have the opportunity up-skill and undertake additional training within the organisation, however applicants should be conscious the position(s) advertised herewith are seasonal in nature, and will conclude in line with our upcoming harvest.Interested applicants are required to forward a cover letter and current resume (including two employment referees) by COB 18 September 2024 to: The HR Manager – Hansen Orchards Tasmania
