The Role:Assist with the designated landscaping including garden construction, minor concrete construction, leveling, drainage, and fencing.Assist with the safe handling and application of chemical sprays for total vegetation control.
Provide technical advice to other Gardeners in the appropriate use of chemical applications.Assist undertake repair and maintenance of gardening equipment and machinery.Key Skills:Knowledge of horticultural practices or ability to acquire knowledge including areas such as:Planning and undertaking of workProgrammed maintenanceCurrent horticultural practicesMaintenance of gardening tools and equipmentPlant health and pest and disease managementThe Team:The Mersey Community Hospital based in Latrobe Tasmania is a modern 160 bed facility providing high quality healthcare and specialist services to the community.
The facility provides acute services for the NW region.The Horticulturalist role is paramount to the success of the site in ensuring that our facility is maintained and well presented to ensure high quality healthcare is provided to our community.As site Horticulturalist you will work alongside a multidisciplined team who provide an extensive range of expertise in plant and equipment within the North West region.
The department is responsible for the maintenance and provision of the following services:CarpentryPaintingPlumbingElectricalMechanicalMinor New WorksWhy Tasmania:The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services.
