In this hands-on outdoor role, you will contribute to ecological restoration and conservation efforts, ensuring these spaces thrive for residents and visitors alike.
This position requires a passion for native plants and ecosystems, along with the physical ability to perform daily fieldwork in varying weather conditions.
As a Biodiversity Officer in the Parks and Gardens team, you'll make a positive impact by: Maintaining and managing biodiversity sites through herbicide application, hand weeding, brush-cutting, and woody weed removal Identifying native and weed species to support ecological restoration projects Promoting ecosystem longevity through habitat creation and regeneration processes Liaising and assisting with horticulture supervisor, stakeholders and assisting with the procurement and delivery of supplies Serco is a place for you You are passionate about the environment and enjoy working outdoors.

To be successful in this role you'll have: Minimum AQF 5 (Diploma) Qualifications in Conservation and Land Management, Environmental Science, Horticulture or similar Chem Cert (Desirable) Current Driver's Licence Working with Childrens Check Knowledge of native and indigenous plants, as well as weed species Demonstrated experience in conservation, land management, or similar roles Understanding of ecological restoration principles and techniques Practical experience with brush-cutters, augers, and pesticide application You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply for this position.
