Pegasus is currently in a growth period and with the expansion of programs in 2025, we are looking for a second experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Horse Coordinator to work alongside our existing Horse Manager.
The Pegasus Horse Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the Pegasus herd in conjunction with our Horse Manager, which currently comprises up to 20 horses and includes stables, paddocks and yards. The Horse Coordinator's primary role is supporting Pegasus' programs through delivery of appropriately trained and healthy horses. Training of Pegasus horses will be guided by Riding for the Disabled of Australia and Horses Helping Humans requirements and the specific needs of Pegasus' horses in supporting programs.
The Horse Coordinator reports directly to the CEO and is required to work directly with the Horse Manager as well as an effective member of a small team, which includes the Program Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator and Pegasus Coaches.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge in Equine Science, Vet Science or similar field; and a desired minimum EA Level 1 coaching accreditation or demonstrated equivalent experience. You will also be required to demonstrate a high level of riding skill and knowledge, which will be assessed prior to the position being offered; along with skills in hand and groundwork in classical dressage and natural horsemanship.
The salary is negotiable based on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. Remuneration package of approximately $70,000+ plus PBI benefits and superannuation, pro rata to part time hours. If required, we have an option to rent an onsite 3-bedroom family cottage as part of negotiations.
