Horse Breeder/Bloodstock Arrowfield Stud, located in Scone in the Hunter Valley, is currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff members to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant/s must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry. Horse Breeder/Bloodstock Essential Skills: Undertake horse breeding activities including, but not limited to, organisation and maintenance of feeding and nutrition plans, drenching and horse movement systems and records. Assist in the management of employee schedules and daily assignments within the relevant Oversee the staff under your direct control and provide encouragement and/or training, ensuring effective management of the Workplace Health & Safety program. Report to the General Manager on all elements of horse welfare and describe any deviation from normal circumstances. Oversee broodmare paperwork ensuring relevant breeding paperwork is completed and Ensure accurate and timely communication with clients on status, progress, and wellbeing of Handle and oversee yearlings at bloodstock auctions and report to vets on any deviations from normal circumstances relative to their welfare. Assist in ensuring the nominations sales targets set by the General Manager and Bloodstock Manager are met. Coordinate the sale of horses at bloodstock auctions throughout Handle and oversee yearlings at bloodstock auctions and report to vets on any deviations from normal circumstances relative to their welfare. Undertake bloodstock catalogue/pedigree research as Research new and existing markets and deliver targeted marketing Help to expand the company's profile by contributing to the sales and marketing plan for growth. Working with the General Manager and CFO to develop and maintain budgets as required for the department. Interact with clients, assist with matings, and arrange opportunities for them to look at bloodstock - on the farm and at sales. Ensure accurate records are maintained and kept up to date for all veterinary, horse health and breeding related activities in which you are involved and ensure all communication chains are maintained Safe use and maintenance of equipment, materials, and tools in use Desirable Skills: A relevant Australian or International Bachelor Degree or similar qualification Terms of Employment These are full-time positions, with a minimum commitment of at least 2 years. The salary will be above award – in the range of $70,000 to $100,000 per annum. Subject to circumstances, on-farm accommodation is available and could form part of the guaranteed salary package.
