Find out how this role could work for you.Period of employment / Hours:Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation).Location:Homes Tasmania - Business & Financial Services – HobartDuties:Primary Purpose / Focus:The Team Leader - Finance Systems and Reporting provides strategic advice, leadership and support to assist the Principal Financial Officer with ensuring the Agency's compliance with financial accounting requirements including:Managing the timely preparation of the Homes Tasmania financial statements in accordance with legislative requirements.Assisting with the development of Agency-wide financial accounting policies and procedures in line with Australian Accounting Standards, Treasury Instructions and Audit requirements.Preparation of high quality and authoritative documentation, including reports for senior management.Developing productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Leading, managing and mentoring staff within the work area to ensure the Unit's objectives are achieved in a timely manner and to a high standard.Skills and experience:Selection criteria includes:Knowledge of government accounting/budgeting requirements as demonstrated by a degree in Accounting or Commerce or other relevant tertiary qualification, with emphasis on financial accounting and management, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated high level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills, including the ability to make sound judgements relating to budget and financial management strategies.Demonstrated strategic management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff and work constructively as part of a team.Relevant tertiary qualifications, together with membership of, or eligible for membership of, either CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) or equivalent experience.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
