Each Network has a dedicated Coordinator funded by DFFH and is auspiced by a homelessness-funded or allied organisation. These networks provide an opportunity for all homelessness-funded services to come together at the regional level to improve coordinated responses to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in their local communities. This role is aligned to the Leading Self proficiency level within the framework, reflecting the responsibility to demonstrate professionalism, personal accountability, self-awareness, and continuous development. We are on the lookout for a passionate individual to join us in the Northern Homelessness Network (NHN) as the Homelessness Network Coordinator.
This is a fantastic 6-month opportunity available as 0.8 FTE from March to October 2025 while the current coordinator takes Long Service Leave. The Network Coordinator is employed to support the NHN in achieving its deliverables and meeting its Strategic Plan.
The NHN is a partnership of the 30 Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) funded organisations in Melbourne's north, that together manage over 120 homelessness and family violence programs.
There are a range of working groups and service coordination meetings supported by the NHN and the Network Coordinator. We encourage applications from anyone who meets the key selection criteria, however experience working and participating in the NHN and NLASN will be highly desirable for this role. What you'll be doing: Identify and source training programs for staff in homelessness and allied services which enhance the effective operation and delivery of the local coordinated homelessness service system.Provide accurate, relevant and timely information on innovative practices and government policy developments in homelessness services in accessible formats.Network facilitation and support; coordinate meetings and training, provide service reports, establish strong connections and relationships, map sector needs and organise time-limited Working Groups which assist achievement of the Strategic Plan for that regional network.Develop and facilitate forums on issues of relevance to the homelessness sector as per the priorities agreed in the regional network's Strategic Plan.Provide an ongoing mechanism to facilitate consultation with primary regional homelessness service providers, secondary providers and the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing (DFFH) and other stakeholders.
This includes liaison with other regional LASNs and attendance at local meetings of allied sector networks as requested/required.Disseminate information and engage members in discussion and decision making regarding innovative practices, government policy developments and new funding initiatives.Create and distribute information to network members in that region.Assist in the identification of ongoing and emerging homelessness issues and contribute to planning, research and program development, for example, through the documentation of service gaps and the analysis of relevant data.Assist the Network to prepare for relevant events in the region such as Homelessness Week and Census.What we're looking for (key selection criteria): Leadership qualities which demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders towards effective client solutions.Extensive program management or service coordination experience within the community and/or public sectors.High degree of initiative and analytical skills.Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.Extensive understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems is essential.Demonstrated high-quality facilitation and communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of initiative and analytical skills.$59.98 - $62.48 an hour
