Position
The Homelands Maintenance and Program Manager is to manage essential services, housing maintenance, and capital works in the northern homelands comprising 3 communities and 5-6 homelands. This role combines program coordination with hands-on maintenance, ensuring the well-being and infrastructure of our remote communities. Key responsibilities include:
Oversee the Housing & Essential Municipal Services (HEMS) Program. Develop priorities and assist with grant applications for capital funding. Collaborate with residents to develop yearly Service Delivery Plans (SDPs). Keep accurate maintenance logs and equipment registers. Develop emergency plans with the WHS Officer. Manage budgets to ensure projects stay on target. Report on program status, including income and expenses. Provide leadership and support on all Homelands-related matters. Work with other managers and stakeholders to meet targets and ensure compliance. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers. Coordinate the procurement of goods and services according to policy. Skills & Experience
• Relevant experience in handyperson / maintenance or trade background beneficial.
• Knowledge of procurement, budget management and building compliance.
• Good computer skills.
• Self-starter, problem-solving and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience working in remote locations and culturally sensitive.
• Current NT Driver's Licence.
• Comfortable navigating ungraded roads on a 4WD.
• National Criminal History Check clearance.
• Current Working with Children/Ochre Card.
