About the role We are searching for dedicated and passionate people to join our Darling Downs Home Care team as Home Care Workers. A Home Care Worker is responsible for providing our home care clients with assistance, support and encouragement of independence to live in their chosen community.
Covering areas throughout Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.
In this varied role you will:
Provide personal care assistance to clients, for example showering, dressing and continence care;Help clients with cleaning, shopping, meal preparation and other light housework;Assist clients by transporting them to appointments and undertaking personal shopping;Assist with medication;Support in the development of a consumer-driven care plan;Look for candidates that are flexible to cover shifts, 7 days a week.About you This role will be ideal for people who are caring, empathetic and seeking a career that will make a difference. You will be someone who enjoys taking the time to build relationships with clients.
To be suitable for this position, you will have:
A current driver's licence and willingness to use own insured and reliable vehicle for work purposes (km's paid);Physical capacity to carry out the duties required, including house and manual work;A current First Aid & CPR Certificate, or willingness to complete;Possess, or have the willingness to obtain, a National Police Check;A Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or equivalent is needed for qualified home care workers.Completion of the following units of competency: HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication, HLTAAP001 - Recognise healthy body systems, CHCCCS011 - Meet personal support needs;A comprehensively insured vehicle that is suitable and available to be used for work purposes.Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English;Flexible work hours, including weekends and public holidays, up to 25 hours per week.Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
