About the role We are searching for dedicated and passionate people to join our Townsville Home Care team as Qualified Home Care Workers. As a Home Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing in-home care to our clients by assisting support and encouragement of independence to live in their chosen community. Located within St James Retirement Village, we not only service clients within the village but in the community as well.
Covering areas throughout Townsville as a Permanent Part Time Home Care Worker, your dedication, reliability and flexibility is essential. This role is a minimum of 18 hours a fortnight.
In this varied role you will:
Provide personal care assistance to clients, for example showering, dressing and continence care;Help clients with cleaning, shopping, meal preparation and other light housework;Assist clients by transporting them to appointments and undertaking personal shopping;Assist with medication;Support in the development of a consumer-driven care plan;Be flexible to cover shifts, 7 days a week, specifically Mondays and weekends.About you This role will be ideal for people who are caring, empathetic and seeking a career that will make a difference. You will be someone who enjoys taking the time to build relationships with clients.
To be suitable for this position, you will have:
Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.Completion of the following units of competency: HLTHPS006 – Assist clients with medication, HLTAAP001 - Recognise healthy body systems, CHCCCS031 – Provide individualised support.Current driver's licence.A comprehensively insured vehicle that is suitable and available to be used for work purposes.Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificates.Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
