About the role: This position is situated within the Eastern Out of Home Care Division. MacKillop's Out of Home Care (OOHC) Division provides residential care, home based care, lead tenant and case management support for young people with high and complex needs, and a therapeutically oriented program for young people in protective placements.
The Coordinator will hold overall responsibility for maintaining a team of active caregivers and oversee specific day to day operational and administrative requirements of the Home Based Care Program.
This is a Full-Time Fixed Term 38 hours per week until February 2026; this can be extended or early cessation opportunity based in Forest Hill, VIC within our Out of Home Care Program. The position reports to the Manager Family and Community Services - East Division. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have:
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.Bachelor's Degree in social work or equivalent, or significant work experience in a relevant field plus a qualification in Youth Work, Welfare, or other related field(s).Demonstrated experiences in Home Based Care, child protection, child welfare practice or a related field.Demonstrated professional casework skills.Demonstrated assessment skills and the ability to utilise these in a range of settings.Sound professional knowledge and theory base, including a solid understanding of voluntarism.Proven Leadership skills and demonstrated ability in the supervision of staff.Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.
