We need a strong Senior QA Engineer, with experience with automation testing, to join our team of dedicated Test Engineers. You will support our test automation, DevOps process, and development projects.Your initial induction will involve end-to-end testing of our Cloud-based filtering solution, which includes Cloud apps, Windows Clients, and Browser extension testing.After your induction, you'll play a key role in supporting our mission of creating safe online environments for children. You'll work in our Appliance team to help produce and improve quality software.A daily part of your role will be to work closely with developers to test new features and assist in rolling these out into production. The primary focus of the team is to maintain a bespoke Linux-based distribution comprising key components such as firewall, web-content filter, and authentication.Here's how you'll do it:Programmatically defining environments that mimic real-world customer installations for software testing.Setting up services such as RADIUS and Active Directory.Building Smoothwall configuration profiles for reproducible testing.Creating an automation set of functional tests to check for regressions.Managing and supporting automated tests for User Stories.Working within a development team using an Agile Process, including Agile ceremonies.Being part of a larger testing team working remotely with the option to work from the Leeds office.What will you bring?A curious mind that seeks continuous learning and development.Empathy for our end-users.Confidence navigating and using the Linux command line.Experience with virtual software (e.g., Vagrant, VirtualBox, Docker).Networking experience (TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs).Good skills and experience in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, etc.Experience working within an agile development process.Ideally, some experience with non-functional testing, specifically performance testing hardware.Why choose Smoothwall by Qoria?In this role, you can expect:Employee stock options.Enhanced holiday & family leave.Tech Allowance.More importantly, you'll:Deliver tech with purpose…Your work truly matters.
