Select Plant Australia is the only total solutions provider within the plant industry and continues to grow and maintain one of the broadest plant ranges and capabilities within its global markets.About the roleSelect Plant Australia operates as part of the Laing O'Rourke Group and has one of the industry's largest and most diverse ranges of equipment, accommodation and tools to deliver on every type of construction project.We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Hire Desk Manager to join our Select Plant Australia team. You will support our customers with their plant and equipment hire needs to enable the build of big and exciting construction projects, working location is primarily based in Laverton North.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of the Hire Desk to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.Handle escalated customer and supplier issues, providing timely resolutions.Ensure team productivity and performance through regular monitoring and feedback.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the availability of equipment and services.Participate in regular meetings with the Region Manager and other stakeholders to discuss operational performance and areas for improvement.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve Hire Desk operations.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team.Provide regular reports and updates to the Region Manager on operational performance and challenges.About YouProven experience in managing operational processes within the plant hire or similar industry.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large team, ensuring productivity and adherence to operational standards.Experience in building and maintaining customer relationships, addressing customer needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.Experience in supplier negotiation, management, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.Understanding of financial processes related to hire contracts, invoicing and budget management.Familiarity with operational and financial software systems (e.g., COINS or similar) to manage hire contracts, invoicing, and reporting.Ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.We work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
