We're looking for a proactive and experienced Accountant to help us scale our operations and support our financial success.
THE ROLE
As our Group Accountant, you will report to the Director of Finance & Commercial and play a pivotal role in our financial operations, working across a broad range of responsibilities, including:
Drive the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts.
Prepare and analyse detailed month-end financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Maintain strict compliance with taxation requirements, including GST and FBT obligations.
Develop and monitor annual budgets, providing regular variance analysis and recommendations.
Lead the creation of short-term and long-term financial forecasts to support strategic planning and operational goals.
Provide leadership and mentorship to a small finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Play a key role in the implementation and optimisation of ERP or Finance Systems, driving process automation and integration.
Identify and implement opportunities for improved financial controls and operational efficiencies.
Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA (Essential).
3-5+ years post-qualification experience (Essential).
EXPERIENCE
SME hands-on finance experience (Essential).
Leading month-end close processes (Essential).
Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting (Essential).
Tax, GST, and FBT compliance (Essential).
Small team leadership (Essential).
Cost accounting, inventory, or quarry/mining experience (Advantageous).
ERP/finance system implementation (Advantageous).
Statutory reporting or audit experience (Advantageous).
SKILLS
Advanced Excel skills (Essential).
Experience with MYOB AccountRight (Highly Advantageous).
