17th December, 2024Based in Nhulunbuy, Arnhem Land, the Higher Education Tutor will empower Yolngu mentors by building their capacity to deliver skills-based learning across language and digital literacy to participants.
This position will help drive pathways for Yolngu students to Vocational and Tertiary education pathways and qualifications.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Apply a broad range of communication styles and teaching methods to facilitate flexible delivery of education.Develop resources to support students' learning with a specific focus on academic language, digital literacy, and academic skills.Build and maintain relationships with the Yolngu mentors and assist them in obtaining the tools and development required to guide students in a safe and supported environment.Provide the Higher Education Manager with required reporting, timetables, and enrolment information.Provide administrative support to the Higher Education Hub including equipment preparation, consumables preparation, activity briefings, stock control, purchasing, logistics, rostering, maintenance, and coordination.Work with Yolngu mentors and key stakeholders to maximise participant attendance by identifying and addressing barriers to participation.Participate in site meetings, training, and community forums.About YouRecent experience in the delivery of adult education through VET or Tertiary level setting.Undergraduate level qualifications (Bachelor's) in a relevant field.Experience managing a work environment where duties included site preparation, managing equipment, ordering stock, and developing staff skills.Experience reporting on key performance indicators.Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origins.An ability to obtain and maintain an NT driving license. #J-18808-Ljbffr
