Reference Number 224161 - Higher Degree Research (HDR) Support Officer Higher Degree Research (HDR) Support Officer Graduate Research School Two positions available Fixed-term, full-time parental leave replacement until 23 October 2026 Fixed-term to 06 June 2025, full-time $75,439 to $86,992 per annum (HEO5) Plus 17% employer superannuation Salary packaging options are available 5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position) About the role Working within the Graduate Research School (GRS), the HDR Support Officer provides high level administrative support across the GRS to assist researchers and Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates with HDR related activities. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring and managing administrative processes relating to postgraduate research students. This position reports to the HDR Team Leader and operates under their general direction.
Please note, this position is not related to research assistant and/or lab technician roles.
About you You will have a commitment to excellent customer service and demonstrated interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills to enable working with a diverse range of people and cultures at various levels. The ability to maintain strict confidence with sensitive information and high level oral and written communication skills, including an ability to compile and analyse information in the preparation of reports is essential. In addition, you will have the ability to exercise initiative and judgement in a diverse range of problem-solving situations including routine and unusual circumstances and an ability to prioritise workload to meet competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and high attention to detail.
About the Group The Graduate Research School facilitates and supports the University's HDR candidature through the provision of administrative services and support to manage, develop and promote HDR study, research training, knowledge transfer and innovation.
