A remarkable opportunity has become available for a High Voltage Testing Engineer that will see you providing HV testing services and expert technical advice to AusNet and external customers pertaining to commissioning, condition assessment and diagnostic testing of primary electrical plants.
This role has a substantive base location of Yarraville however is site based and is part of the HV Testing team within the Transmission line of business. Regular travel will be required in this role.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Provide on-site HV testing of primary electrical plants consisting of: Power Transformers; Cables; Generators and Motors; Instrument Transformers and Switchgears. Involved in day-to-day workload planning of testing team to ensure test equipment and personnel are appropriately utilised to maximise testing throughput and service levels. Liaise with Project Managers and Access Coordinators to identify resource requirements to meet HV testing demands. Obtain Sanction for Test (SFT) and Tester-in-Charge (TIC) authorisation to lead the test crew to perform HV testing. Ability to analyse test results independently and prepare test reports. Assist in developing, maintaining and improving testing processes, procedures and methodologies and ensure they meet the requirements of various accreditations. Assist in maintaining all HSEQ requirements for HV Testing team. You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Technical leadership and expertise on HV testing. Communication and collaboration skills across business, supplier and partners spread across a broad geography. Excellent technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Factory testing experience is advantageous. Travel: Requires travelling to intrastate and interstate and a valid Australian driver's licence is required.
Professional body membership: Registered engineer or working towards being registered.
