Consistent company growth has fostered full-time opportunity for a High Voltage Protection Technician to join our expanding team! This role is subject to national travel on a project-by-project basis. Applicants either need to live locally or be willing to relocate. Powertech are happy to discuss relocation costs from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. Roles & Responsibilities: Commissioning, testing and maintaining: HV Protection systems / schemes, communications HV Substations secondary systems and primary plant HV/LV Plant/Assets Power Generation Systems Power Transformers. Provide leadership, supervision, technical support and training to technicians. Preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, protection test plans and create detailed technical reports on completion of works. Experience, skills and qualifications: Must hold QLD Electrical (or Fitter and Mechanic) Workers License. Engineering Degree or Diploma in Power Systems (highly regarded). HV Switching Ticket preferred. Experience with IEC61850 and GOOSE messaging through IED Scout viewed favourably. Knowledge and understanding of appropriate Australian and International Standards, as well as relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule and budget requirements. Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience using the Omicron suite of equipment for secondary system testing. Power Station experience (highly regarded).
