What are you going to doAs a High Voltage Electrician in the Power Station, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing electrical systems critical to the facility's operations.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position involves working with a skilled team to ensure the efficient and safe operation of power generation equipment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to essential operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while prioritizing safety and teamwork.Duties:Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems, including GE LM6000 gas turbines, Solar Titan 130 turbines, and gas reciprocating engines.Perform daily rounds and plant inspections to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.Carry out planned and routine maintenance activities on electrical systems, instrumentation, hazardous areas, and Type B gas equipment.Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and issues in power generation and distribution systems, including high voltage (HV) power equipment.Ensure calibration and maintenance of electrical test equipment.Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures in accordance with industry standards.Work on HV power distribution systems, including transmission lines and transformers, ensuring system integrity and reliability.Contribute to the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new electrical systems and equipment.Participate in emergency breakdown support and corrective actions when required to minimize downtime.Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs using relevant computer systems.Support the integration of new energy technologies and systems as part of ongoing upgrades and improvements.Essential skills and knowledgeRequirements:Current Western Australia Electrical Licence (Unrestricted).Current High Voltage Switching Ticket (within 2 years or happy to renew).Current First Aid certificate.Current CPR/ LVR certificate.Certificate IV in Instrumentation (essential).Certificate IV in EEHA (desirable).Supervised gas fitter qualification.Working at Heights (preferred).Valid Drivers Licence (C class).Experience in power generation plants, GE LM6000 or Solar Titan 130 Turbines or Gas reciprocating engines.Experience with all aspects of HV power distribution and transmission apparatus.Experience in large scale transmission networks.Demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Benefits:Potential for permanency with one of Australia's top 3 iron ore producers.Supportive workplace culture that values your growth and success.Camp facilities include a gym, and a fantastic wet mess, offering a comfortable experience.Rolling roster, providing a stable and predictable work schedule.Personalised guidance throughout the recruitment process.Salary sacrificing.EAP.Corporate discounts.
